How to use

How to use

Connecting a subdomain takes a few steps at your registrar and in your WebQR dashboard:

  1. Domain panel: Open domain management at your hosting provider or registrar.

  2. Subdomain: Create a subdomain, for example qr.yourdomain.com.

  3. DNS: Open DNS records for that subdomain in your domain settings.

  4. CNAME: Add a CNAME for the subdomain (e.g. qr.yourdomain.com) pointing to customers.webqr.uk—the target host is shown in WebQR when you add the domain.

  5. Domain in WebQR: In “My domains” add the hostname and copy the TXT records for SSL verification shown in the dashboard.

  6. DNS verification: Run DNS verification in the dashboard. Confirmation can take from a few minutes to several hours.

  7. Go live: When status is Active and SSL is issued, use the domain on dynamic QR codes and short links. Wait for activation before large print runs.

Do not remove the CNAME record after verification—QR codes and links using this domain will stop working.

TXT records are required to issue an SSL certificate for your hostname. Add them in DNS as shown in WebQR.

With an active domain and certificate, select it when creating dynamic QR codes and short links so users see your brand in the URL.

Custom domains are available on Business and Enterprise plans. Hostname limits depend on your subscription.
