Editing dynamic QR codes
Dynamic QR codes can be updated anytime: content, type, appearance, and settings—without reprinting the code. Here is how to edit and manage them in your WebQR dashboard.
Dynamic QR flexibility lets you change colors, fonts, contact details, dates, descriptions, titles, and files whenever your products, promotions, hours, or content need updates.
Updating QR code elements
Update your QR when products, contact info, hours, promotions, or content change. In WebQR it is quick:
-
Find the QR code: Open “My QR” in your dashboard and select the code.
-
Actions menu: Click the three-dot icon on the right of the row.
-
Edit: Choose “Edit” from the menu.
-
Change content: Update the QR content on the screen.
-
Save: Click the save icon in the top right corner.
Keep information current for customers without reprinting the QR code.
Change QR code type
Need a different QR type—for example from restaurant menu to a promo website? WebQR dynamic codes let you switch without starting from scratch.
Example: you printed a menu QR but now want customers on your site with events—switch to “Web page” and fill in new content.
-
Find the QR code: Open “My QR codes” in your dashboard.
-
Actions menu: Click the three dots on the right.
-
Change type: Select “Change QR type”.
-
New type: Pick the new type and fill in content.
-
Design: Customize the design and save.
Changing type deletes current data permanently. Save anything important first.
Edit QR code appearance
Customize colors, logo, borders, patterns, frames, and CTA text for dynamic and static QR codes.
After changing colors, logo, or frame, printed materials need updating. Different styles of the same dynamic QR still point to the same content.
-
Find the QR code: Open “My QR codes”.
-
Actions menu: Click the three dots on the right.
-
Edit: Choose “Edit”.
-
Content: You will see the QR content screen.
-
Design: Click “Next” or “QR code design” at the top.
-
Done: Click “Done” in the top right when finished.
Temporarily disable a QR code
Only dynamic QR codes can be paused. Pause is temporary; delete disables the code permanently.
-
Find the QR code: Open “My QR codes” and select the code.
-
Select: Check the box on the left of the row.
-
Pause: In the bottom menu choose “Pause”.
Data and layout are kept—you can reactivate the QR when content is relevant again.
Updating the short URL
Dynamic QR codes get a short URL for digital platforms—easy to share and track.
You can set a custom short URL when creating a QR code:
-
Create QR: Click “+” and choose “Create QR”.
-
Type and content: Pick a QR type and open “Content”.
-
URL settings: On the “Statistics” tab open “URL settings”.
-
Custom URI: Uncheck “Generate automatically” and enter your URI. It must be unique—“URI unavailable” means pick another.
-
Allowed characters: Letters A–Z, a–z, digits 0–9, hyphen (-), and underscore (_). No spaces or special characters.
You can change the short URL after printing, but printed codes will stop working—reprint if needed.
Reset scan tracking
WebQR provides scan analytics. Resetting is useful after major QR changes to measure impact fresh.
-
Details : In “My QR codes” open the QR and click “Details”.
-
Options: Click the “Options” selector above the chart.
-
Reset: Choose “Reset scans”.
Reset is permanent—export stats first if you need them for reporting.
Organize in folders
Folders help manage many QR codes—campaigns, promos, and projects stay structured for your team.
Create a folder
-
In “My QR codes” click “+” in the top right.
-
Choose “Create folder”.
-
Enter a name and click “Create”.
Move a QR to a folder
-
Check the box on the left of the QR.
-
In the bottom menu choose “Save to”.
-
Pick a folder and click “Save”.
Keep projects organized and easy to access.
